Week one of “X Factor” voter results aired on November 8, 2012 and at that time one of the final thirteen was eliminated. The way eliminations work is the two contestants with the lowest amount of viewer votes compete in a sing off for the “X Factor” judges and the judges choose who stays and who goes home. Tonight the two acts with the lowest amount of viewer votes were CeCe Frey and Jason Brock. These two competed for their fate.
This was CeCe Frey’s second sing off this season. Her first was for the final spot in the “X Factor” young adults category against Willie Jones. Frey won that duel placing her in the final 13. Tonight CeCe Frey chose to sing Cher’s “You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me” for her do or die performance and to be honest, it wasn’t her best. Frey came across as needy and desperate. Her vocals were off as well. Frey let her emotions take control. This girl can do better than this.
This was also Jason Brock’s second “X Factor” sing off. Jason competed against David Correy for the final spot in the over 25s category last week and convinced mentor L.A. Reid that he was the better of the two performers. Jason Brock performed Bonnie Tyler’s “Total Eclipse of the Heart” hoping to out sing CeCe for the final top 12 seat in tonight’s sing off. I thought his was the stronger performance but ultimately it was up to the judges.
How did the “X Factor” judges vote?
Demi Lovato voted to send Jason Brock home.
L.A. Reid voted to send CeCe Frey home.
Britney Spears voted to send CeCe Frey home.
Simon Cowell voted to send Jason Brock home.
The judges were deadlocked therefore the results were determined by viewer votes. The “X Factor” contestant receiving the lowest amount of votes went home. Tonight that contestant was Jason Brock.
