The World Food Championships with television host and author Adam Richman hosting the festivities continues through Nov. 4 showcasing the best of the best squaring off to crown champions in multiple food categories. Bally’s Las Vegas is the official host of the four-day food festival and cooking competition with additional events being held at Paris Las Vegas and Caesars Palace. The competitions and demonstration are free and open to the public with ticketed events.
With a total prize pot of $300,000, the World Food Championships will feature seven categories: Barbecue, Chili, Burger, Sandwich, Recipe Championship, Side Dish and Chef’s Challenge. Each of the seven category competitions will take place at Bally’s Las Vegas with almost 300 competitors. On Nov. 4, the ultimate food battle, where each of the champions from the seven categories will go head-to-head for the main prize purse at a Final Table in front of Caesars Palace. This showdown will be judged by a panel of seven celebrity/culinary judges, including WFC spokesman Adam Richman, star of the Travel Channel’s “Adam Richman’s Best Sandwich in America” and “Man v. Food: Nation,” and author of “America the Edible” and the upcoming “Quest for the Best.”
“This is an exciting moment. As the sport of competition food has grown into a multi-million dollar industry, it can no longer be denied and we felt there needs to be a crescendo the end of every year for champions to showcase their culinary talent and compete against the best,” said Mike McCloud, president of Trybe Targeting, the company producing the four-day event. “But this is a change for ‘Joes’ to compete against the pros so we have people from all walks of life competing in this competition.”

Born in Brooklyn, Richman is a television personality, culinary expert and author and best known for his hosting role in the “Man v. Food” and “Man v. Food Nation” and “Adam Richman’s Best Sandwich in America” television series on the Travel Channel. He is the author of “America the Edible,” “A Hungry History from Sea to Dining Sea” and the upcoming “Quest for the Best.”
