A major winter storm will move northeast along the New England coastline today, bringing a significant bout of wintry weather to the region. Snow will mix with sleet, freezing rain, and rain south and east of the Capital Region this morning, before changing back over to snow this afternoon. High pressure will briefly build into the region on Friday, but another storm will develop into this weekend and slide by the region with another bout of some light snow, stay tuned! It will then turn very cold into the New Year’s holiday.
- A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for the western Mohawk Valley, Schoharie Valley, eastern Catskills, Adirondacks, Lake George/Saratoga region, southern Vermont, Capital Region, central Taconics, and western Massachusetts through 7 p.m. this evening.
- A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the mid-Hudson Valley, southern Taconics, and northwestern Connecticut through 7 p.m. this evening.

Chance of precipitation near 100 percent. Additional snow and sleet accumulations around 2 to 5 inches, with higher amounts to the north and west of Albany and across the higher terrain.
