There are plenty of reasons that it can be hard to commit to losing weight, and unfortunately this is something everyone will struggle with at some point in their weight loss goals. Through the power of persuasion and motivation however, anyone can break through and begin losing weight whether it is only a few pounds or a hundred pounds. Included below are ways to stick with losing weight and the things you may not have expected that are holding you back.
Old habits die hard. While losing weight and changing a diet may sound like an easy plan, sometimes our old eating habits die hard. It’s not an easy thing to do when it comes to dieting throwing out old foods and cleaning out the refrigerator of foods you often ate before that were adored and loved by yourself and family members.
Here is the thing, rather than replacing all of those items at once and starving you of favorite foods, replace one thing at a time. Do you often drink soda pop? Try replacing one can a day with a glass of water, or something such as a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. For each soda that has been replaced, a loss of about 200 calories (or more) will occur. That’s one simply habit that can leave without causing too much change.
Not enough time. This is an excuse, that’s just the truth of the matter. If there are minutes in the day, there is time to work out. Don’t make those excuses that there is not enough time to put in a work out. The truth is that is an excuse that needs to be removed from your vocabulary. This statement “there’s not enough time” is much like the phrase “I can’t.”
To avoid this excuse, try doing small things during the day such as wall pushups, dance aerobics or simple things such as a fifteen minute walk. These small things can add up to 30 minutes of cardio in to the day without being done all at once.
Give up attitude. Giving up on weight loss goals because the results haven’t happened right away is also a problem. There will be changes in the body even from only 30 minutes of exercise every few days to replacing sugary drinks with water. These changes may be the way clothes fit on the body, or even the feelings of happiness.
So rather than quitting and giving up, remember that it will be done and it may take time. Patience is a virtue during weight loss and losing weight. So keep at it, never give up and follow your goals.
These are simple things that often make people have problems with committing to weight loss goals. Through the simple attitude of I can do it, will get a person through any troubles they have. Keeping that in mind and believing in yourself is how to lose the weight and keep it off.
