Three’s Bar & Grill located on South Kihei Road where Bada Bing’s use to be has been receiving some nice reviews and comments, so Visionary Artist, Sevan and I made our way over there for dinner last night.
We ordered an array of tasty choices. Starting off with The Green Dragon eel and avocado roll with the California Roll nestled inside. I later learned there was a White Dragon roll, which I will have next visit. It features Hamachi, which is my favorite sushi.
We were inspired to visit Three’s Bar and Grill in Kihei as they will be catering the upcoming event at The MACC, Makana By Moonlight (see my previous articles for details and my two part interview with Makana).
The Three Owners and Chefs at Three’s are friends who came together at Longhi’s in Wailiea and started their business with catering.
You can learn more about them at their web site www.threesbarandgrill.com
You can also check out their menu and the variety of happy hour options, musical entertainment, which by the way, we found very impressive.
One of the things that impressed me the most about this restaurant whose location was been through a number of incarnations, is the way they have enhanced the space.
It’s gotten chilly in the evenings and we were led to outdoor seating. The Monkey Pod Tree stands sturdy in the central dining area and is lit with dozens of clear lights that lend themselves to a feel of magic. Sitting with my back to the parking lot, I was transformed into another place all together.
Our waitress Christina was one of the best ever in terms of her personal journey and willingness to share with us not only the best recommendations but who she is. I meet far too many waiters and waitresses in my work that lack this personal appeal and she has it!
We were fond of her right from the start. The ambiance for a South Kihei off the road restaurant is superior and it was a really relaxing evening.
There was no feeling to eat and rush. I was glad I brought my jacket along with this new cold front moving in, and we dined on Steak, Opakakpaka, Seared Ahi (yummy), and other delicacies.
The bread pudding was to die for.
You will want to dine here when you are visiting Maui or any time you are in the Kihei area.
You will find this restaurant open around the clock pretty much. I am excited to have breakfast and lunch here.
So head to their web site www.threesbarandgrill.com and check it all out. Food, Music,
location, reservations number which aren’t required but good to have sometimes.
This dining experience was pleasant and we will be enjoying their catering at The MACC for Makana By Moonlight on Dec. 7, 2012. Another great way to experience the tasteful cooking of this trio while preparing the enjoy Makana’s great trio of musicians.
Fun for all.
See you there.
