“Killing Them Softly”: This crime thriller written and directed by Andrew Dominik stars Brad Pitt as Jackie Cogan, an enforcer who is tasked with bringing back order after three dumb criminals attempt to rob a card game, resulting in the failure of the local criminal economy. Runtime: 97 minutes. Rated R for violence, sexual references, pervasive language, and some drug use.
“The Collection”: Directed by Marcus Dunstan, this horror movie follows a man named Arkin, who barely escapes from a serial killer known as The Collector with his life. But while in the hospital, Arkin is kidnapped by a group of mercenaries hired by the wealthy father of a woman named Elena (Emma Fitzpatrick), who The Collector has added to his collection. Her father blackmails Arkin into locating The Collector’s hide-out and rescuing Elena. Runtime: 82 minutes. Rated R for strong bloody violence, grisly images, language and brief nudity.
