As we come to the end of 2012, a year that started with so much promise and possibilities, but seemed to just flatten out towards the end, it is that time again….. to take stock of the companies, small and large businesses in South King County with the best customer experience, bases upon a year-round survey of customers and localized experts.
For this year’s honors, we will actually have two small businesses and one large business.
For the small business category, the winners are as follows:
1) Sun Cleaners in Federal Way, WA
2) Rottles in Auburn, WA
For the large business category, the Safeway store in Twin Lakes, Washington took the honors and actually single-handedly “saved the reputation” of most Safeway stores, which we found has become increasingly less than satisfactory, over the years.
Our year-long survey and analysis showed that customers were consistently pleased with the hands-on approach of the management at this particular Safeway store and felt their concerns and needs were always genuinely attended to, at all times and with the utmost sense of professionalism.
When we asked the customers surveyed if they would shop at other grocery stores that were less expensive than Safeway, they responded that they would not compromise their insistence on quality service over price and that they were happy to shop at the Twin Lakes Safeway for their groceries and related needs, since they also enjoyed savings with their Safeway cards, from time to time.
Regarding Sun Cleaners in Federal Way (ironically right next to the same Safeway store), customers gave the owners high marks for quality service and outstanding customer service!
They said they were always impressed with how the owners remembered their names, even when they came back after being away for a while. They also gave kudos to the ownership of Sun Cleaners for being cost-effective and also using “eco-safe” materials for their cleaning operations.
As for Rottles, the long-standing symbol of excellence and quality service in South-King County for decades, its loyal client-base have consistently given the family-owned clothing store, much praise for keeping it simple, efficient and with quality as its consistent guide.
It all goes to show that the time-tested adage still rings true – “treat them well and they will come.”
