On Nov. 29, The CW released a new sneak peek preview and a set of promotional photos for “The Vampire Diaries” season 4, episode 8 “We’ll Always Have Bourbon Street.” Spoiler alert – turn away now if you don’t want to see what’s coming up on the show.
The preview (seen below, left) reveals that this episode will feature several flashbacks that will provide a look into Damon and Stefan’s life in the early 40s.
The preview begins with Stefan confronting Damon about his sire bond with Elena. Stefan accuses Damon saying, “She was sired to you and you took full advantage of that.” Damon’s expression would seem to suggest that he doesn’t care what Stefan thinks about his relationship with Elena.
Later, Damon suggests that Stefan’s insistence to investigate the bond is purely for selfish reasons. He asks his brother, “Are you doing what’s best for her or what’s best for you?”
The preview ends with a look into the 40s. In a scene set in a bar, Lexi tells Damon, “Stefan’s better off alone than with you.” Damon answers, “What makes you think I’m not restrained.” She icily responds, “The fact that you never have been.”
The synopsis reveals that Damon will be forced to make a “heartbreaking decision.” Will he be forced to break his sire bond with Elena, something that might send her right back into Stefan’s waiting arms? You’ll have to tune in to find out!
The synopsis for this episode reads:
