Now that The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 has been released to close out the series, what’s next for the huge and devoted fan community which has developed around it?
Well, there are a few movies of interest on the 2013 release roster, and here are the ones I predict Twilight fans will enjoy the most.
The Host (Mar. 29) – Based on the book by Twilight Saga author Stephenie Meyer, this alien love story is a must-see for her fans.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (Nov. 22) – This second installment to the hit Hunger Games franchise will take us all back into the bloody arena. Tick tock!
The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (Aug. 23) – This eagerly awaited adaptation of Cassie Clare’s mega-successful series starter could usher in an all new phenomenon.
Beautiful Creatures (Feb. 13) – A southern tale of teenage wizardry leads of this potential franchise-maker.
Warm Bodies (Feb. 1) – Prep for a zombie-human love story with this one, and it looks to be even more entertaining than its literary form.
Ender’s Game (Nov. 1) – Teens train in outer space for the war of the worlds. Fun!
Safe Haven (Feb. 14) – Another sappy love story adaptation from Nicholas Sparks. Guilty pleasure, anyone?
Oz: The Great and Powerful (Mar. 8) – Disney looks to breathe new life into an old classic, and by golly it looks like it’ll be pretty cool to watch.
The Great Gatsby (May 10) – Based on the classic American tale, this adaptation holds some promise.
World War Z (June 21) – If you’ve broadened your vamp-loving horizons to the world of zombies, this adaptation of Max Brooks’ seminal story could be worthwhile. Hopefully, they’ll clean the film up a bit before release, though.
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (Dec. 13) – Tolkien lovers get another one with this second leg to The Hobbit franchise!
Cast films of note:
21 And Over (Justin Chon)
CBGB (Ashley Greene)
Decoding Annie Parker (Maggie Grace)
Plush (Xavier Samuel, Cam Gigandet and Casey LaBow, directed by Catherine Hardwicke)
Empire State (Nikki Reed)
