Annual Cane Boil and FiddleFest
Saturday, November 24th 9AM – 4PM
$2 for adults | $1 for kids 3-12 | Under 3: FREE
Bring your out-of-town guests, local relatives, friends, and family for a taste – literally! – of old-time Florida (ca. 1870) as the sugar cane boils into syrup and the fiddlers play their foot-tapping, hand-clapping best. Traditionally, cane boils were a time when friends and neighbors gathered for work and play. Help preserve that tradition and join us to experience the making and bottling of sugar cane syrup, live roots music, and costumed living history interpreters and demonstrators bringing to life a day on an 1870’s Florida farm. The Longleaf Pine Youth Fiddle Contest will be held at the Cane Boil from 10 am to noon, followed by traditional music from talented local musicians. Make this event part of your Thanksgiving weekend tradition! – Morningside Nature Center

Audiences of all ages will be held captive by the play’s sparkling special effects, gentle humor and an inspiring message from Dickens’ classic Victorian story.
