Sugar Hill Inn, Sugar Hill NH. Sugar Hill has been a favorite place for the famous to get away and while Bette Davis was having her house built she stayed at this quiet and relaxing traditional inn. Rates for rooms at the inn range from $140 per couple per night for the Oakes room to $210 for the Bette Davis room and a bit higher for the sumptuous Bickford and Peckett suites. Thanksgiving dinner here is $60 per person but their package deal is that if you stay Wednesday and Thursday you get a $60 credit, Thursday night only a $20 credit, Thursday and Friday $40 credit and Thursday through Friday nights a $75 credit. Travel time from Boston should be a bit over 3 hours.
Snowvillage Inn in Eaton, NH, is a charming traditional small inn sitting high up on a mountain with wide views of the White Mountains. Former owner Kevin Flynn is back and the inn has returned to its former welcoming self. Individually decorated rooms give warmth to the experience. Guests will received maps for a hike on Foss Mountain or tips on other hikes. The Thanksgiving package includes two nights at the inn, full country breakfasts and complete 4 course Thanksgiving dinner with choices of traditional turkey, duck, maple-cranberry glazed salmon or grilled filet mignon. Packages start at $169 per person d/o, with a 20% discount for additional nights. About a two and a half hour drive from Boston.
Bernerhof Inn, Glen NH. Recently completely renovated, Bernerhoff has features not available elsewhere, such as I-Pads in every room. Country inn comfortable and with cozy elegance, the inn is a wonderful place to settle in for a stay. The inn’s package requires a three night stay starting at $98 per night per couple. Bernerhof has arranged for Thanksgiving dinner certificates at Thompson House Eatery in nearby Jackson. Thompson House is one of the finest restaurants in the area and has a relaxed country atmosphere. Guests will have a shared appetizer, soup or salad, any entrée on the menu, including the traditional turkey feast, and a shared dessert. Travel time from Boston will be just over 3 hours.
The Inn at Jackson and Whitney’s Inn, Jackson NH. This pair of inns in Jackson are both wonderful places to settle into but each is totally different in ambiance. The Inn at Jackson sits on a hillside overlooking the town and was originally built as a summer home for the family of the Baldwin piano company. Designed by Stanford White, it has all of the elegance of Victorian summer homes of the turn of the 19th century. Whitney’s Inn, in a more rural part of town, is settled into an old farm house once owned by the Whitney family, some of the early founders of the state’s ski industry on adjacent Black Mountain. Rooms here are in Adirondack style. Thanksgiving packages offered include two nights at the inn, breakfasts and dinner for two on Thanksgiving at The Wentworth, an elegant inn close by in town. The price for the package at The Inn at Jackson is $399 per couple and at Whitney’s the price is $369 for rooms in the main inn and $469 for a family of four in a two room suite.
