The forgotten third person (not really) in the trio of stars of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 2” appeared on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” on Halloween, and intimated that fans of the “Twilight” books need to be paying attention while watching the final film.
Appearing on the show to promote the movie, Lautner said the following about the new film, which will be the final film in the series which has covered Stephanie Meyer’s book series (video embedded).
There’s a very thin line because the fans would freak on us if we changed anything too much. I can confirm there is a twist and I can confirm everybody can find out what it is on Nov. 16.
Some may find out slightly earlier, or just after midnight, depending on the actual length of the movie. Some will watch the final segment of the “Twilight” saga as part of a movie marathon, with “Part 2” beginning at 10 p.m. Nov. 15.
Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have previously spoke about the ending to Entertainment Weekly, with Pattinson saying,
When I first read the script, I got to that part and was like, “What?” And then I had to go back a page. It does it a serious justice.
Stewart agreed with Pattinson’s opinion on the finale. She said,
It’s clearly made by someone who really likes [the saga], who really cares. That’s why [director] Bill Condon is perfect. Thank God for him.
In the final chapter of the “Twilight Saga,” Bella (Kristen Stewart), Edward (Robert Pattinson), and their friends work to defend the couple’s child, Renesmee, after a misunderstanding threatens their family.
As Wikipedia says,
… the vampire Irina (Maggie Grace) misidentifies Renesmee (Mackenzie Foy) as an “immortal child,” a child who has been turned into a vampire, and because immortal children are uncontrollable, creating them has been outlawed by the Volturi. After Irina presents her allegation to the Volturi, they plan to destroy Renesmee and the Cullens.
In an attempt to survive, the Cullens gather other vampire clans from around the world to stand as witnesses and prove to the Volturi that Renesmee is not an immortal child.
In addition, we know that werewolf Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) will imprint in Renesmee, the process by which a werewolf finds his soul mate.
“The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 2” is the final film in a five-movie series that encompassed the four books of Stephanie Meyer’s “Twilight” book series. The other four were “Twilight,” “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” and “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1.”
The film has been rated PG-13, as expected, for some sequences of violence as well as “disturbing images, partial nudity, and some sensuality.” A PG-13 MPAA rating is consistent with the prior films in the series.
