Stella McCartney won the Designer of the Year award at the 2012 British Fashion Awards, held at the Savoy Hotel on November 27, 2012 in London, England.
Designer of her own eponymous label and the 41-year-old daughter of former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney, wore a strapless black jumpsuit with silver beaded piping on the sides, teamed with retro style pointed black pumps.
Beaming with her award in hand, Stella posed for photographs with American actress and model Amber Valletta and actress Salma Hayek.
Valletta herself chose a lovely amber colored long-sleeved satin gown for the evening that had a short train trailing behind her.
Salma Hayek was in a sleeveless over-the-knee black cocktail dress and black pumps. As wife of Francois-Henri Pinault who is the head of his fashion conglomerate PPR that has subsidiaries Stella McCartney, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Yves Saint Laurent and Balenciaga among many others, Hayek is often seen at fashion events on several continents.
Actress/model Kelly Brook too wore an LBD (little black dress), teamed with black pumps and a metallic clutch bag, while Dita Von Teese looked lovely in a black gown with plunging V-neckline.
Model Cara Delevingne got the Best Model award, which she accepted in an edgy peridot green metallic sheath, teamed with silver peeptoe pumps.
Photographer Ellen Von Unwerth too wore metallic in the way of a golden blazer which topped a black shirt and fitted jeans, teamed with black peeptoe pumps.
Sophie Hulme was the winner of the Emerging Talents – Accessories award, while Jonathan Anderson of JW Anderson, won the Emerging Talent award for Ready-To-Wear.
Erdem Moralioglu won the New Establishment award and Harold Tillman CBE, walked away with the Special Recognition award.
Samantha Cameron, the wife of British Prime Minister David Cameron wore a sleeveless cocktail dress in shades of blue, pink, red, black and white with matching electric blue pumps.
Princess Beatrice, daughter of Queen Elizabeth’s son Prince Andrew, also chose a blue, black and white printed dress, which she teamed with black patent leather pumps.
Shoe designer Manolo Blahnik in his yummy powder pink waistcoat and baby blue pashmina shawl in hand, was the proud recipient of the Outstanding Achievement in Fashion award.
Fashionista Alexa Chung in her lovely black lace dress and intriguing black lace booties got the British Style award.
Roksanda Ilincic was the winner of the Red Carpet Award, which she accepted in a lovely burgundy and black plaid flounced dress.
Also attending the 2012 British Fashion Awards stylishly were Valentino Garavani, who was a presented this evening, Andrea Riseborough, Laura Bailey, Natalie Massenet, John Rocha, Katie Hillier, Josephine de la Baume and Richard Niccol and Pixie Geldof.
