High pressure, responsible for the fair weather Thursday, moves to the east Friday. Low pressure will track from the Ohio Valley and cross the region on Saturday. Periods of rain should begin to overspread the area by late Friday and continue into Saturday. There is a chance of some freezing rain in the valleys north of the city during Friday night and early Saturday morning. As the low pulls away Saturday night it will drag the attendant cold front through our area, giving us a period of drier weather later Saturday night and part of Sunday.
A more vigorous and impressive low will move out of the Great Lakes later Sunday and through the St. Lawrence River Valley Monday. The associated warm front will push through here early Monday, with another cold front passage at night. What this means is a chance of showers Sunday night, with showers or periods of rain likely during Monday into the overnight.
A third low may impact our weather Tuesday as it rides up the coast from the Mid-Atlantic States, moving southeast of Nantucket Island. This will hold in the clouds and increase the chance for additional showers Tuesday, with a possibility the precipitation ends as a bit of snow Tuesday night. This system will need to be watched closely over the next few days. It could also go further eastward and have very little impact, or none at all, to the local area.
