Although high temperatures Thursday will be several degrees milder from those of yesterday we still remain below normal, with a shot of even colder air arriving Friday and hanging around for Saturday. The colder air is courtesy of a cold front that moves through the region late tonight. The cold front will be essentially dry, but a stray flurry is possible as the front moves across the area.
High pressure to our north will keep us in a cold north to northeast flow into Saturday. It will be quite chilly both days as high temperatures are not expected to get out of the 30s. There will also be an upper level disturbance that moves across the area later Friday and Saturday that could bring on and off rain and snow showers from Friday night through Saturday.
Big changes will be here starting Sunday as the high to our north moves offshore. This will kick in southwesterly winds that will in turn bring us milder air and look for this trend to continue into early next week. We may have to go through a period of showers later Sunday into early Monday as we transition from below normal temperatures to above normal temperatures. Expect to enjoy temperatures into the 50s both days, with the overnight readings likely remaining above the freezing mark.
