Everyone loves Christmas time. Legendary hitmaker Bunny Sigler does as well. His affinity for the holiday season was the impetus for the new Christmas project called ‘When You’re In Love At Christmas Time.” The brand new release showcases the soulful singer in some of the season’s most popular hits.
Songs like the CD’s lead single “Little Drummer Boy”, the reverent “Ave Maria”, the captivating “O Holy Night” and the festive “Hark The Herald Angels Sing” set the scene for this special time of year. Not forgetting those bitten by the love bug, Bunny provides the CD’s title tune, “When You’re In Love At Christmas Time” as well. The industry has been ranting and raving about the new release.
“Many of us have heard the familiar response when you congratulate someone who cooks a great meal ‘Thank you; I put my foot in it.’ Well, Bunny Sigler threw his soul into this CD. There are numerous Christmas albums but this Philadelphia native reminds us why we all love the timeless Philadelphia and Motown soulful sounds.” – rootshed.com, Names CD “Top Soulful Christmas Album of 2012”
“Sigler and company hit it out of the park, and all pieces within this album hold the attention span of the listener perfectly. What’s more, the 12-song line-up possesses an amazing amount of musical variety and comes fully loaded and appeals to many listeners with a wide variety of musical styles.” – Vents Magazine
“Christmas is a season of reverence, love, fun and wonderment. Bunny Sigler manages to capture all of those elements on his CD When You’re In Love at Christmas Time. The album provides him with a chance to create some new music and memories. The legendary Philadelphian makes the most of both chances on his solid holiday season effort.” – Soultracks.com
“R&B legend Bunny Sigler continues to share songs that prove his passion for music goes well beyond his beloved soul songs with his new twelve-song holiday release When You’re In Love At Christmas Time. Sigler masterfully brings his smooth, powerhouse vocals to Christmas classics such as ‘White Christmas,’ ‘Little Drummer Boy’ and a few festive originals; ‘Merry Christmas Happy Holidays,’ ‘A Christmas Dream’ and the title track.” – PopCultureGuy.com
“Philly soul vies with surprising European touches in this local legend’s brave, bodacious bag of tricks. A grooving hot ‘Little Drummer Boy’ and ‘Hark the Herald Angels Sing’ seem especially hometown, both with blessed vocal assists by Charlene Holloway. Meanwhile, the Italian waltz-flavored Sigler/Richie Rome original ‘Merry Christmas Happy Holidays’ should play equally well in Rome, while Sigler’s lofty ‘A Christmas Dream’ of helping out Santa spins fancifully off a J.S. Bach staple.” – Philly.com
Sigler will be performing songs from his Christmas CD on Philadelphia’s FOX 29 on Christmas Day, Tuesday, December 25, 2012 during the show’s morning segment that begins at 7AM EST. The program will be streaming live on www.myfoxphilly.com. Two days prior, on Sunday, Dec. 23, at 5 p.m. EST, Bunny Sigler will be ringing in the holidays at a free concert at Sharon Baptist Church (3955 Conshohocken Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19131 – 215.473.3000).
Walter “Bunny” Sigler is recognized as a legend in his own time. With over 35 million units of his songs sold internationally, Sigler is a prolific songwriter. He has worked with some of the biggest names in the music business including Curtis Mayfield, Carl Carlton, Phyllis Hyman, Lou Rawls, Chaka Khan and many others. In spite of his very successful career in soul music, Sigler grew up singing in church and spirituals and Christmas songs are quite familiar to him.
This Philadelphia native began his singing career in singing songs like “O Lord My God” and “The Lord’s Prayer”. This Christmas project shows that it’s more than just the music that captivates his heart; it’s a testimony of his relationship with Jesus Christ. “I’m in this for real,” says Sigler. “Although I’ve sung urban music, I never stopped singing sacred music. For me, it’s all about ministry.” The CD is available at CD Baby, Amazon and iTunes. For more information on Walter “Bunny” Sigler, log on to www.bunzmusicandrecords.com.
