Yes, fans realize that the show is a reality contest more than a dance competition. This is why a lot of the best dancers are voted off the show before the season comes close to ending. However, fans are becoming more and more disappointed in how the judges are judging the finalists. They are also becoming more and more convinced that “Dancing With The Stars” is a show that is rigged.
First, there are the dancers that continually ignore the rules and get high scores. The judges berate them of this fact. Then they go ahead and give them high scores. Then there are dancers who continue to follow the rules, do a great job on the dance floor is praised by the judges and aren’t given high scores. This practice makes little to no sense, unless the judges have been told how to vote prior to the show.
Secondly, the fan base. If you follow Twitter, you see the posts of from the fans. You hear about people who have stayed up all night voting for a particular dance couple. Yet, that couple gets voted off the show. It doesn’t make sense.
Of course, one past star, Hope Solo, has made allegations that the show is rigged. These allegations were basically ignored. For more information on these allegations go to: huffingtonpost.com.
The question is how long will the fans continue to watch “Dancing With The Stars?” Most of them are realizing that their votes don’t matter. Will this fact keep them from watching? Will it be enough to watch their favorite stars learn how to dance, if the show is lucky enough to coax some of their favorite stars onto the show? This is the real reason to watch the show. The stars do learn how to dance. They all struggle with the steps. Dancing is not an easy thing to do. They work hard and the pro dancers do a great job in teaching them. This is what many fans are realizing is the main reason to watch the show. They can’t count on voting for their favorites because they will never know for sure if their votes are being counted. All they can do is take ABC’s word for it and many fans are no longer trusted that word.
As for this year’s winner, Melissa Rycroft, yes she did a great job. But some fans may say other dancers did better. Yet, at the end of the day, let’s all keep in mind that this was a reality show and other things mean more. This writer also wants to add that she is glad that no dancer got seriously hurt. Some of those lifts were plain scary to watch. She also wants to add that she hopes that they all had fun.
