Sister Wives star Kody Brown stated after a family vacation how hard it was to be affectionate with one wife in front of the others. The polygamist family took a vacation to the beach with the Dargers who are another polygamist family.
Sunday’s episode of the reality show shared the footage from their vacation. Based on the jealousies displayed, this may just be the last family vacation they take.
Kody Brown, the husband of this merry band of wives explained how hard the situation can be. “For me to be openly affectionate with all four of my wives works in theory. We want it in theory. In practice, it’s not easy at all.”
“In theory, we don’t want to have jealousy at all. In theory we want to be able to be completely secure with ourselves and our relationship with Kody so that when Kody does anything for a sister wife, we’re happy for them” explained Robyn.
Another of Brown’s four wives Meri chimed in on the situation as well. “We’ve got so many other things that we have to deal with in our family and our relationships that we have jealousy over. Sometimes I feel like why add one more thing on when we don’t have to, when we can step back and have our own relationships and affection in private with him.”
Being on vacation with another polygamist family gave the Brown’s some insight into how other families with multiple wives function. Meri Brown said, There are things definitely in that family that I think we could benefit from.”
Kody Brown said the Dargers story reminded him why he decided to take his unusual family life public. “Their story strongly reinforces many reasons why we decided to go public. Just the authorities coming and saying, ‘Hey, we’re suspicious of you because of who you are and your lifestyle and your faith.’”
