Suppose you took swimming lessons 20 years ago have been staying away from opportunities of swimming for a long period of time and happen to have a chance of swimming at the beach you visit for a vacation, you may have some difficulties of swimming smoothly or at least you may feel a little bit concerned about your skill of swimming only because it was acquired and might be “rusted”.
If you go to a local fitness club with a swimming pool to make a little bit practice before going on a vacation in order to refresh your swimming skill, you have much less difficulties for swimming at the beach during a vacation. This means that a little refreshing training will help you remember (or resume) what you learned long time ago. The same can be said not only for swimming but also driving, dancing and speaking a foreign language whatsoever.
Flower arranging skill is not exceptional. From time to time, our school is approached by people who used to learn (or work on) floral designs but recently they have not been active these days. These people often want to resume working on flower arrangement for refreshing the skills they earned long time ago. This kind of students can easily catch up with a decent level of floral design skills by taking lessons of a short program.
Some people who earned European floral design skills want to resume involved in floral art by taking another kind of flower arrangement that is Japanese Ikebana arts. Some people do the other way around. Namely they used to work on Japanese Ikebana arrangement and join basic European flower arrangement class to resume learning floral art.
Although there exist differences in the nature and the way of designing between European floral art and Japanese Ikebana, people who have decent level of skills of either design do not have so many difficulties in catching up with a decent level of arranging skills.
It is highly recommended to start from Elementary Course if they would like to challenge another type of floral designs, switching from European arrangement to Japanese Ikebana or vice versa.
No matter which way it is, we can help. We offer Elementary Course not only for European floral designs but also Japanese Ikebana arrangements that are recommended for those who would like to start from scratch or refresh skills earned long time ago. Of course, as already mentioned, if you used to be involved in either European designs or Japanese Ikebana and would like to resume working on a floral art, you are quite welcome to join above mentioned elementary course.
Depending upon the current floral designing skill, it could be possible to start from Intermediate Course. If a student is at a loss where to start from, it is recommended to consult with an instructor of floral arrangement before enrolling in any program.
