We are in the middle of the holidays, a time of year when friends and family get together to celebrate, reminisce and enjoy good food together.
Nothing speaks more about this then the traditional Italian family get-together over food, wine and desserts.
In Cherry Creek North this tradition continues at Tony P’s in Cherry Creek, located at 240 Milwaukee Street.
Owned and operated by Tony Pasquini and his mom Judy Pasquini, who first opened a restaurant on Broadway 18 years ago before selling it in 2004, the Pasquini’s have served the community for over two decades. Tony P’s in Cherry Creek, as their website properly states, has crafted a selection of family Italian recipes with an eye towards healthy eating, promote local food producers, and keeps the prices affordable.
They also offer several low-calorie, gluten-free and vegetarian options and have added Napolitana style pizza to the menu, made with organic flour with a thin, artisan crust and baked in a 800 degree oven (see menu).
Complimenting their menu is an extensive selection of Italian desserts, from the Dulce de Leche, layers of cake soaked in tres leches “three milks” and topped with whipped cream and hand-made caramel sauce to the Chocolate Candle, chocolate mousse with a white chocolate Kahlua center encased in a chocolate shell. As a customer stated;
“No better place exists then Tony P’s in Cherry Creek to relax with friends and enjoy a glass of wine paired with an authentic Italian dessert”.
Like many restaurants, Tony P’s in Cherry Creek gives back to the community, and not just this time of year. They donate thousands of dollars in food, employee time as well as other resources to many charities. They also host fundraisers for non-profit organizations all year long as well as employing local area residents.
One such example of the Pasquini family values, sense of community and tradition is clearly stated in letter from a local area resident,
I have never written to a restaurant or given my opinion on any web site in any way but this touched my heart so much that I had to write you. I was in the hospital the other day with a dear friend who has cancer. One of the sweetest assistant nurses came in and was comforting my friend and began to share some stories of her life. Her name is Caren and she has a bit of a speech problem which causes her not to be able pronounce very clearly. Anyway she began to tell us that she just got a second job at Tony Pasquinis in Cherry Creek. She was out of her skin with excitement that you hired her for fri and sat hostess. That it would work perfectly with her job at the hospital. She did have one problem though and that was that she doesn’t have a license at the age of 41 so she may be late on fri nights. With that the lady who had hired her which I believe was the owner said ” we’ll we just can’t have that! I will send one of my staff to come and pick you up” I was so blessed by what you did for this woman I just had to say something. We are also coming there tonight to celebrate my husbands birthday because of the story of this woman. It wouldn’t matter if the food was horrible (which I hear is not the case) you have lifetime customers. Thanks for your kindness to Caren , she is a special lady. This is the spirit of Christmas in the flesh.
