Nothing in the world can provide as much unconditional love than a dog, if paired with the right person or family. And with Christmas just around the corner, you might be thinking of adopting a canine companion for your children or a loved one.
Before you do, however, it is vital that you do your homework. It would be highly traumatic for both the receiver and an animal if the dog had to be returned for any reason. To help ensure that this does not happen and to aid you with this process, go HERE before you adopt to find out everything you need to know and take into consideration before a dog is adopted.
Ugly Mutts Ontario Humane Dog Rescue located in Hamilton, Ontario would like you to meet Jake, a Shih Tzu/Japanese Chin mix.
This charming 4-year-old boy is lively, affectionate and smart, according to rescue staff. He also becomes “extremely devoted” to his favorite person.
“He loves everyone he is familiar with but is reserved around new people and unfamiliar situations,” a spokesperson noted. “He is very good with other pets including cats and would be fine as a second dog in the home.”
Jake has quite the personality and loves to be the center of attention so he needs someone who can offer consistent leadership rather than baby him so he maintains his obedient and loving ways.
“He is very well behaved in the home and can be left for a normal working day with no issues. He is housetrained but needs to be put out regularly,” said his foster parent. “He has continued to use pee pads for nighttime” and when no one else is home.
He also loves playing with his toys and a good game of fetch in the back yard. He will bark at any strange noises he hears, so it is not advised that he go into an apartment setting. It is also advised that he go to a quiet and calm home with only adults. However, he would not mind sharing space with other dogs and even cats.
“With the right person, he can be a most loving and devoted pet.”
Jake is neutered, up-to-date on his routine shots and housetrained. If you seek a special companion and think he might be the one for you, submit an Adoption Application by email to firstname.lastname@example.org and put ‘Pet ID:Jake PFId2324800151’ in the subject line.
