Forecast discussion: High pressure over North Carolina gave most of the east coast partly to mostly sunny conditions. However, this will begin to change, especially since we will have some quick moving upper level dynamics move over us the next several days.
The first upper level disturbance will move over the Northeast U.S. sometime tomorrow afternoon. We will see sunshine to start on Friday, with some increasing clouds throughout the day. A weak frontal boundary will move down from Northern New England, and help produce some snow showers for early Saturday morning. Any snow showers will change over to rain showers by the late morning. The precipitation should end by Saturday night, as the disturbance moves quickly offshore.
We will see some brief sunshine on Sunday, but a cold front developing in the Central US will pass over us Sunday evening. It will help bring another round of showers, this time all rain, into Monday morning. Once again, this frontal boundary will be quickly moving east, and we should see some sunshine by Monday afternoon. Temperatures will rebound back into the lower 50’s for Monday and Tuesday. However, once the cold front passes through Tuesday afternoon, temperatures will become colder once again.
A new cold front will move through Tuesday evening, helping to provide us with another quick round of showers into Wednesday morning. High pressure to our west will help dry our skies through Wednesday afternoon. We will return to sunshine next Thursday. However, temperatures will be about 10 degrees colder than Monday and Tuesday’s highs.
