Modesto Police Detectives announced Wednesday they are looking for Abbygail Castillo, 26, in connection with a March 3 triple homicide.
Castillo is wanted for harboring, concealing, or aiding a person committing a felony, according to an emailed statement from the Modesto Police Department.
“Detectives are asking anyone who knows of her whereabouts or how to locate her to contact them at (209) 572-9534 or Crime Stoppers at (209) 521-4636. Abbygail Castillo is also encouraged to contact the Modesto Police Department on her own.”
The California Department of Justice found a preliminary ballistic match to ammunition, shell casing, and evidence associated with this triple homicide to a drive-by shooting that occurred in the 5000 Block of Tyson Street in Empire on Dec. 23, 2011.
Detectives ask for the public’s assistance with any information regarding the drive-by shooting in Empire as these two incidents may have related suspects.
“This preliminary match moves detectives significantly closer to solving the violent triple homicide,” police said.
Detectives are also requesting the public’s help in identifying a “person of interest” that may have information related to the homicide case. Police released a black-and-white surveillance photo depicting a female wearing a white hooded type sweatshirt was taken near an apartment located at 1757 Richland Ave. in Ceres.
“The apartment is the same location where a 18-year-old female was held against her will and assault during the Ceres domestic violence case,” police said. “In that case, it is alleged the 18-year-old female was assaulted and held against her will for several days at a home in Ceres. Ceres Police detectives investigated this case and arrested the victim’s boyfriend, 31-year-old Richard Garibay and a friend of Garibay, 30-year-old Armando Osegueda.”
On March 3, at about 3:42 a.m., Modesto Police officers were called to a residence in the 700 block of N. McClure Road in east Modesto for a report of a shooting, police said. When officers entered the residence, they located three victims, 19-year-old Alyxandra Tellez, 31-year-old Edward Joseph Reinig, and 16-year-old David Siebels. Each suffered fatal gunshot wounds.
A fourth victim, an 18-year-old female who was hiding in the home, was able to elude the attacker(s). She was able to call 911 and report the crime.
