Not so very long ago in our United States of America there was a popular political notion.
It first traveled here with progressive minded people all the way across the Atlantic Ocean.
Some would say it had little to do with our freedoms and everything to do with our money.
Yet most would agree it helped saved some of both in a land steeped in milk and honey.
The idea was blessedly simple and the dream resolute while Rule Of Law made it real.
Strong will to share means with those who had none made way for an American New Deal.
Those who hoarded so much had to give some back so fallen millions could rise to their feet.
And government worked well for the good of all so those millions shouldn’t have to retreat.
Then for many years on there remained rich and poor while a proud middle class grew fastest of all.
From war to hate and worse problems still persisted yet so did our faith that dreams wouldn’t stall.
Now four score years after dawn broke that darkness a dim gloom has gathered over us again.
Shadows of greed and corruption have crept back in on whispers and workings of amoral men.
It took years for rotten apples of Business and Politics to use deceit and distraction effectively.
But they took their time and spent billions of dollars to turn dreams into nightmares electively.
Now they’ve pushed us to the edge of this fiscal cliff threatening plenty of New Year’s pain.
So let’s push right back and threaten their jobs since we’ve nothing to lose and plenty to gain.
