It’s down to crunch time, as they say, on Season 3 of the NBC singing competition “The Voice” and with last week’s playoffs performance of “Dream On” by Team Adam’s Amanda Brown, there could be little doubt that the powerhouse singer tops the list of those favored to win the entire contest. But there were others with compelling and electric performances as well, and, as others are wont to say, it ain’t over ’til it’s over, so… But what do the professional oddsmakers think of the remaining 12 contestants? Where do they place the finalists?
As fans of “The Voice” well know, Judge and mentor Blake Shelton’s team currently holds the title, his protoge Jermaine Paul taking home the win in Season 2. Adam Levine’s team won Season 1 with Javier Colon. And if things keep moving as they are, it appears that Team Adam might get its second win in three seasons with Brown.
According to Sportsbook, Brown posts 3/2 odds of winning it all, the best of the final dozen singers. She’s not far ahead of Trevin Hunte (Team Cee Lo Green), who puts up 2/1 odds. And the two others oddsmakers think will round out the Top 4 in the Season 3 finale? Dez Duron (Team Christina Aguilera) and Terry McDermott (Team Blake) both put up 5/1 odds.
“The Voice” enters its last series of live rounds on Monday, Nov. 12, with each mentor taking three of their contestants into the fray. So who’s team appears weakest of all? According to the oddsmakers, that unfortunate distinction falls to Team Blake.
Shelton’s singer, Michaela Paige is considered to have the longest shot at winning the competition. Her odds: 30/1. Team Blake also posts Cassadee Pope at 15/1 odds of winning, tied for seventh place overall (with Team Adam’s Bryan Keith). Taking into consideration that Shelton’s likely entry in the Top 4, McDermott, also has the longest shot at winning the finale, it is clear that the professionals don’t think much of his team’s chances of winning the season.
‘The Voice’ Season 2 Odds Of Winning It All
12. Michaela Paige, Team Blake — 30/1
10. Adriana Louise, Team Christina — 25/1
10. Melanie Martinez, Team Adam — 25/1
9. Cody Blew, Team Cee Lo — 20/1
7. Bryan Keith, Team Adam — 15/1
7. Cassadee Pope, Team Blake — 15/1
6. Sylvia Yacoub, Team Christina — 12/1
5. Nicholas David, Team Cee Lo — 10/1
3. Terry McDermott, Team Blake — 5/1
3. Dez Duron, Team Christina — 5/1
2. Trevin Hunte, Team Cee Lo — 2/1
1. Amanda Brown, Team Adam — 3/2
Of course, odds will alter as finalists are eliminated, but at the moment, it appears that Adam Levine has the upper hand in the contest, but Team Cee Lo has the strongest team, placing singers with the second, fifth, and ninth best odds of winning. So don’t be shocked if, at the end of the Season 3 finale, Trevin Hunte’s name is called.
But that’s the way it looks going into the Quarterfinals.
“The Voice” airs on NBC Television at 8 p.m. (EST) on Mondays and Tuesdays.
