It’s probably fair to say that most people think of Superman as the confident superhero of our youth—a man able to leap the tallest buildings in a single bound, but the newly released Man of Steel trailer shows an entirely different Superman. This hero-to-be is tortured by who he is and where he comes from as well as by the uncertainty of who he is supposed to become. He is a superhero that reflects the uncertainty of this age and acts as the Everyman for all people, who wonder about these very questions and about the nature of having power.

Info About the New Man of Steel Trailer
The new Man of Steel trailer reveals some images that fans saw with the new Superman movie poster, in which the hero in cuffs is being led down a hall by a cadre of military personnel. But the trailer shows more than that. The opening images of the Man of Steel trailer show a Clark Kent with scruffy beard and plaid over shirt much more in keeping with Marvel Comics’ sometimes almost unkempt Wolverine than the nearly invincible Man of Steel that DC Comics fans have grown to know over the years. And just from a visual perspective, the images and the way the footage has been shot carries a nostalgic, almost dream-like quality that draws the viewer in. These elements taken together give this rendition of Superman a more identifiable persona than we the audience might have had of him in the past.
Man of Steel Release Date and Facts
Man of Steel is directed by Zach Snyder and produced by The Dark Knight Rises director, Christopher Nolan. Jon Peters and Lloyd Phillips are the executive producers for the film. Henry Cavill plays Superman. It comes to theaters June 14, 2013.
