New York Knicks vs Milwaukee Bucks
When: Wednesday, Nov. 28, 8:00 p.m.
Where: BMO Harris Bradley Center
The Knicks (9-4) had a tough loss in their first game inside the Barclays Center. The battled the Nets for four quarters, and had a chance for a game winning shot, but Carmelo Anthony missed a jumper from the left wing. The subsequently went into overtime where the Nets took control for a seven point victory. The Knicks are (4-4) in their last eight games and look to get back to their winning ways in Milwaukee. The Knicks have a three game losing streak on the road.
The Milwaukee Bucks (7-5) came back from a 27 point deficit against the Chicago Bulls on Monday. The Bucks lead the Central division by one and a half games over Indiana. They are 500 at home, and have the first place Knicks in town for a prime time event.
Carmelo Anthony is averaging 26.3 points per game and seven rebounds on the season. Anthony struggled at the line down the stretch of the game on Monday. He must be able to convert at a higher rate from the stripe. The leading scorer for the Bucks is Monta Ellis. The dynamic shooting guard is averaging 19 points per game and five assists.
Brandon Jennings has a tough matchup with Raymond Felton at the point guard position. Felton is coming off of his worst shooting performance as a Knick. He will look to bounce back to help New York get back to their winning ways. Unfortunately, Jason Kidd is out again with back spasms. The Knicks sorely missed his three point shooting and timely defense on Monday.
Even though the Knicks have been playing well defensively, they’ve had their trouble on the interior. They don’t block many shots and the rebounding must improve on the nightly basis.
Larry Sanders, the Bucks backup center is averaging over two blocks per game. He provides a nice presence off of the bench.
Tyson Chandler had a great offensive performance on Monday, and he will look to attack the rim against the Bucks front line. Even with his offensive prowess, Chandler needs to up his production in the shot blocking department. As Marcus Camby gets more acclimated with playing time, he can provide a defensive presence in the paint as well.
With the absence of Jason Kidd, the Knicks may have to go small with J.R. Smith in the starting lineup. Kurt Thomas started against the Nets to match up with the big front line of Brooklyn. The Bucks start two small guards with a lot of quickness.
New York only made six triples in the loss to the Nets. They must regain the rhythm from behind the arc to offset the scoring punch by the Bucks guards.
