Green coffee bean extract is popular for weight loss management and controlling blood sugar surges that eventually turn to fat. Green coffee bean extract and resveratrol are now the latest popular antioxidants along with olive leaf extract.
The latest coffee drink, though in coffee houses may be interested in serving beverages with green coffee bean extract and/or coffee laced with chocolate and spearmint flavorings. Olive leaf extract usually is taken as a capsule or as liquid sweetened and flavored with mint extract. For example, a tablespoon of liquid olive leaf extract put over blueberries with almond milk to be used as an antimicrobial beverage. It also comes flavorless as a capsule in powder form.

As far as caffeine-free herbal teasans that are growing in popularity, the tea in fashion currently also is the soothing, caffeine-free Roobois tea combined with Moroccan mint tea with a teaspoon of unsweetened cocoa powder in it topped with whipped coconut cream instead of dairy whipped cream.
Also popular is decaf green tea served with a spoon of unsweetened organic cocoa powder with our without a pinch of stevia, cinnamon, mint, or even D-ribose muscle sugar used by some athletes to increase ATP energy. This green tea and green coffee bean popularity in beverages also appeals to some people on lactose-free diets who can’t tolerate cow’s milk. Almond milk (unsweetened) is quickly becoming the new cold drink in fashion, often flavored with cocoa or decaf tea.
Most commercial almond milk beverages add too much salt in their unsweetened versions. Some brands have 180 mg of salt (sodium) per 8-ounce cup of unsweetened almond milk. The sweetened varieties often carry between 7 and 15 grams of sugar, syrup, or evaporate cane juice per cup.
Home-made almond milk is prepared by soaking a 1/2 cup of almonds overnight in water in a covered jar in your refrigerator, then putting the almonds and fresh, filtered water in a blender. The final step is straining the liquid through a cheesecloth or fine strainer to remove the particles so that you get a white liquid that looks like milk without bits of almond skins and pieces of almonds as residue.

This year green coffee bean extract is emphasized in weight management products
What green coffee bean extract does is to regulate the body’s ability to break down sugar/glucose or carbohydrates, ultimately helping the body burn fat. In the original study, participants took part in a 22 week double blind placebo cross over study lost an average of 10% of their total body weight without changing their diet or exercise habits. The results suggest that GCA may be an effective nutraceutical in reducing weight in pre-obese adults, and may be an inexpensive means of preventing obesity in overweight adults.
The study noted that it worked well in “reducing weight in pre-obese adults.” What would happen with obese adults? On the Dr. Oz show yesterday, what was repeated also was that different green coffee bean extracts have different effects when it comes to weight management.

In that study, the volatile extract of Hawaiian green coffee beans exhibited strong antioxidant activity in two testing systems. Considering previous reports and chemical structures of components identified in this study, the antioxidant activity of volatile green coffee extract may be due to the presence of several components. In some people, caffeine gives them the shakes and a faster heartbeat. In other people, caffeine and coffee doesn’t make much difference in how nervous or anxious they feel after drinking a cup of coffee.
