Supermodel Miranda Kerr made an appearance on CBS’ “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” on Monday night (Tuesday morning) and not only proved to be a charming guest but also revealed a little bedroom behavior that prompted Ferguson to give her the unofficial title of “Most Awesome Wife in America.” What does the woman who already has been named “Sexiest Woman Alive” for 2012 by Esquire (UK) magazine do to get that title?
In a brief nod at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show being aired on CBS on Tuesday evening, Ferguson asked the Australian model if she was ever embarrassed walking around in underwear on the runways. Kerr said she wasn’t for the most part, but when friends and her husband were in the audience, she sometimes felt embarrassed “parading” in almost nothing.
Ferguson suggested that she shouldn’t be embarrassed in front of her husband. Presumably, he had seen her dressed in much the same fashion at home.
Then the light bulb went on… “So, like at home, do you walk up and down for your husband?” As Kerr laughed, saying “sometimes,” Ferguson went on: “‘Cause that makes you the most awesome wife in America.”
“Yeah, I do,” the model nodded, smiling, looking down a bit self-consciously while the audience cheered.
The husband that Kerr primps for at home is none other than actor Orlando Bloom, star of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “Lord of the Rings” movies, including the upcoming “The Hobbit.”
The 2012 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show recently made headlines not only because it continues to be the “sexiest show on Earth” or because Rihanna, Justin Bieber, and Bruno Mars performed, but also because of the supermodels treading the runway had recently had babies and were already back at work in two-piece lingerie ensembles: Alessandra Ambrosio, Lily Aldridge, and Adriana Lima, the latter having had her baby just an astonishing eight weeks prior to the fashion show. Kerr also has a child, a boy, that she gave birth to in January 2011, but was back in a bikini by April and posing for Victoria’s Secret in August. And of course she was on the runway that November for the annual fashion show as well.
When Craig Ferguson asked if she thought that men were more visual than women, Kerr agreed. She then imparted some of her grandmother’s wisdom:
“What she said to me about men — men are very visual. So don’t forget that. She said, ‘Every day, put a little makeup on. Put on some nice underwear and you’ll keep your husband.” Laughing, she said, “That’s what she told me.”
Ferguson, always eager to play the over-sexed lech, said that it worked for him.
And it works for a lot of men, which is why the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show draws around 10 million viewers (10.3 in 2011) every year, a good portion of them males eagerly being visually stimulated.
That stimulation airs at 8 p.m. (EST) on CBS Television on Tuesday, Dec. 4. Miranda Kerr and her Victoria’s Secret Angels colleagues will strut their wing-bedecked half-naked supermodel bodies down the runway. The special, which was videotaped on November 7 in New York City, will also present musical guests Rihanna, Justin Bieber, and Bruno Mars, not to mention Alessandra Ambrosio in the $2.5 million Floral Fantasy bra.
