Adam Rodriguez sat down for a fun interview with rootshed.com while tasting Chivas Regal scotch whiskys. First Adam opened up about how this relationship came to be and what the company standards mean to him, then Adam opened up with a little personal information:
I hear you make a mean french toast, what’s your secret?
<Laughter> “You do, huh? I can’t tell you my secret! It’s definitely in the ingredients and in the way you cook it. Butter has a lot to do with both. There’s two special ingredients. One is…[long pause]…I cant give it away! I do make a mean french toast, pancakes too. I’m a good breakfast man, I guess that’s always been my ploy in convincing women to stay the night.” <Laughter>
Correct me if I’m wrong, you are single right now, yes?
“Yes, I am.”
What’s your type? Who are you looking for?
“You know I’m at the point in my life when I’m looking for a wife. I’ve had some great times, I’ve really enjoyed myself and now I’m ready for something more.”
What does she look like as a person?
“Definitely a kid person, great sense of humor, great smile, thinks I’m the funniest man on earth. Someone that knows that it’s not always going to be perfect, that sometimes it’s gonna be…hard and it’s gonna be unpleasant and that’s okay too because if you know those things will come and you’re ready for them and you know what really matters, you’ll get through it. She’s also got to be smart, got to keep me interested, have good conversation.”
What’s your favorite thing to talk about?
“I like so many different things, I am a jeopardy fanatic, I love trivia. No matter what, you gotta be able to have a conversation about what you’re feeling, whatever other topics there are, you have to be able to communicate where you’re at any given moment so you’re both aware where you’re partner’s at so you can work things out and move forward.”
You grew up in NYC, but you also have a place in LA, what part?
Oh, so do you work out at muscle beach?
“Not at muscle beach, but I go to Gold’s. And I LOVE it. <Laughter> It’s a world unto itself and I absolutely love it.”
Do you hit up Kings Head Pub? Sunday night karaoke?
“Sometimes!! Over there one 2nd, yes! I haven’t been there in a while, but I do go there. It’s a good spot. You know [Santa Monica] has the biggest Brit ex-pat community in the world?”
At this point, the NYC Brand Ambassador for Chivas interrupted the interview in order to do a tasting of their 12, 18 and 25 year scotch whiskys. It was observed that the Chivas 12 is a great mixing drink, which means that it seems it would go great on a hard morning with Adam’s french toast. He laughed and responded:
“I’ll tell you a little secret, it would go GREAT with my french toast!”
If you could take this Chivas anywhere in the world, where would you take it?
“I gotta say, right here, right now at the 1801 club is pretty good; NYC, my home, my best friends are here tonight to celebrate and enjoy this with me, I don’t think I’d want to be anywhere else.”
What’s your favorite cheers?
“I usually say Salute.”
Each of the whiskys were tasted and everyone shouted Salute! As the interview came to a close, Adam walked to the door with an agreement that the Chivas 12 and Chivas 18 were perfect for the blended drinks and the Chivas 25 was the perfect sipping scotch.
