If you are looking for restaurants to celebrate New Year’s Eve on Monday, Indian cuisine is a good choice. There are many Indian restaurants to choose from in the greater Phoenix area. Some restaurants may be closed on New Year’s Day and run on shortened schedules on the eve. So, to avoid disappointment, here is a selection of restaurants serving Indian food in North Phoenix, in Scottsdale and in the East Valley that are open on both days.
1. Tandoori Times 3 (Glendale, Phoenix): A chain of three Tandoori Times restaurants (one in Glendale, and other in Scottsdale) this one is open on New Year’s Eve. The restaurant specializes in tandoori (or clay oven) grilled or sizzler meat dishes. They also have live entertainment on week ends.

2. Bombay Spice Grill and Wine (Scottsdale): If you are looking for a typical, fine dining, Indian restaurant, this is not the place for you. As the name suggests, this restaurant is more about contemporary Indian cuisine that is available in vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. You create your own entrée by choosing the base (rice or bread), your choice of sauce, your ingredients (chicken, lamb, seafood or vegetables) and top if off with a glass of your favorite cocktail. They also have bottomless brunch ($ 11.95) on weekends. For New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day specials check the website at http://www.bombayspice.com/about-us/

3. Jewel of the crown (Scottsdale): This is more of a fine dining kind of restaurant located in Old town Scottsdale. They serve one of the best tandoori chicken dishes in town. They also have a meat sampler that is juicy and delicious. Their buffets come with choice of mango lassi or tea but you can also order your choice of beverages like Indian beer and wine. The buffets are priced at $ 8.95 (for lunch) and $ 9.95 (for dinner).
