With the holidays fast approaching it seems to be when folks not only count their blessings and remember all they are thankful for, but it’s also a time when families plan to recreate traditions of old as well as create traditions of new – and Disneyland Anaheim Resort in southern California has been a place helping families do just that for generations.
Disneyland has all sorts of magic lighting the way toward happy and healthy hearts this year from the new Cars Land to Twilight Zone™Tower of Terror that opened in 2004 to the remnants of pixie dust that can be found sprinkled all over in Pixie Hollow, no doubt left behind by Tinker Bell – with all sorts of magic and wonderment to be found throughout the park no matter how long your stay. And for the 2012 holidays we will share with readers some of Disneyland’s highlights, bringing some of that Disney magic to your home for the holidays.
Whether staying at one of the Disneyland hotels or in a neighboring hotel in Anaheim, there is always a deal to be found from a season pass package deal to a one or three-day pass; Disneyland can even accommodate parties for those celebrating a wedding, birthday, anniversary or a weekend of fun among friends or family.
In the coming weeks we will provide the best savings packages and some of the hottest highlights of what’s not-so-new but oh-so-exciting to what’s hot and new at Disneyland including Cars Land with its three attractions: Radiator Springs Racers, Luigi’s Flying Tires and Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree; to upcoming attractions for the remainder of the year and into 2013 to all of the holiday blitz and bling with Mickey and all of their character friends. More fun and exciting facts to come; in the meantime, enjoy a few of the savings tips and information below. Have yourself a Goofy-kind of holiday!

Savings, tips and more:
Savings tips: Remember that Disneyland season pass holders receive a 20 percent discount on purchases on merchandise in the Disneyland shops and in Downtown Disney (all of the locations and exclusions are provided with your season pass and also available online). But be sure to take advantage as the savings are also good on meals as well as other special savings and discounts so be sure and inquire as to what savings are available.
Free coffee: I mentioned previously that “free” coffee refills could be found once inside Disneyland – and indeed they can! At the Market House Café on Main Street inside Disneyland Park (on the right hand side at the end of Main Street just after you walk in); they sell good, fresh brewed and specialty coffees, with free refills on regular coffee all day long with receipt. Now that’s a deal.
Price adjustments: Remember that regardless where you purchase a deal, all packages should be checked before final arrival – such as online or special deals that may occur between your booking and periodically before heading down south. Since no one can predict price adjustments, sales or promotions throughout the year, especially with those booking far in advance, sometimes specials can arise after a booking is made so do check to see if a price adjustment can be made and absolutely call and ask for a price adjustment or see if a new special has been announced. You never know!
Wishing Well funds help grant wishes – Did you ever wonder where all that money goes to from the Wishing Well at Disneyland Anaheim Resort? The Wishing Well not only grants wishes of those who toss and coin and “believe,” but Disneyland has partnered with “Make-A-Wish Foundation” to help more than 500 critically ill children every year with the granting of their wishes. The Wishing Well, located to the right of the Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland not only catches our attention every time we go, becoming a family tradition of ours – as well as a tradition of many families who visit Disneyland. So won’t you help grant other children’s wishes of the “Make A Wish” Foundation with Disneyland, and help them grant the wishes of more than 500 children every year with medical life-threatening conditions? Now that is something to be grateful for, and those are wishes worth granting so don’t be shy about feeding those coins into the Disneyland Wishing Well; and maybe that’s why Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs are gathered around.. to watch over the wishes?
All I know is that we have made several wishes over the years – sometimes silly, sometimes for others – and sometimes wishing for each other with the saying of a prayer. Whatever the wish, we just know that the money and the real wish ultimately helping another child in need.
Stay tuned for more holiday Disney magic in the coming weeks.
