Halle Berry’s 4-year-old daughter could be the focus of another abuse investigation according a report by Yahoo News on Nov. 26. The child, Nahla, was present when a fight between her father, Gabriel Aubry and Berry’s fiancé Olivier Martinez broke out on Thanksgiving morning.
Aubry had been there to drop off his daughter when the brawl took place. Though the child wasn’t directly involved in the fight and Berry is reported to have removed Nahla as soon as the fight began, she no doubt witnessed some of the incident.
Because she was present, the detectives from the LAPD who responded to the home made an official report to the CPS (Child Protective Services) following Gabriel’s arrest. This was done because of a history of physical abuse allegations relating to the family. As a result, Halle, Gabriel and Olivier will all have to be interviewed about the events on Thanksgiving Day in order to ensure that Nahla is living in a safe environment.
Gabriel was arrested for misdemeanor battery. He was able to post the required $20,000 bail and was released. The brawl prompted Halle to file for an emergency order of protection which keeps Gabriel away from the family through Thursday. He is set to appear in court on the battery charges on Dec `13.
Berry and Aubry split in 2010 and their relationship has been rocky ever since. Earlier this year, Gabriel reportedly pushed Nahla’s nanny while she was holding the child. The case was dropped due to a lack of evidence but may be revisited in light of the most recent events.
