Why is the Republican congress disregarding the concerns of the majority of their constituents who have declared that they want to avoid going over the fiscal cliff and they want fair tax codes implemented? John Boehner and his GOP colleagues have determined that their personal agendas are more important than the needs of the citizens that they were elected to represent.
When respondents were asked to give a word or short phrase to describe the Republican Party, a substantial 65% gave answers with negative connotations, from “bad,” “weak,” “negative,” “lost” and “uncompromising.” Just 17% of the comments were positive.

Several members of congress on the state level as well as the federal level including John Boehner should be impeached based upon the fact that they are guilty of subverting election laws and abrogation( annul by authoritative act) of the U.S. constitution. Their failed attempt to impede voting rights and propose fair tax code laws are prime examples.
Governors at the state level should also be held accountable for intentionally subverting the efforts of labor unions who were formed in order to improve workers rights such as ensuring safe worker environments, guaranteed paid time off, overtime wages and health benefits.
Legislative action taken by governmental officials with full knowledge that it causes the deterioration of lifestyle for its citizens should be an impeachable offense. However, the problem is that since congress has the “sole power” to impeach, it is highly unlikely that they will consider impeaching their own actions which are usually based upon greed and power.
Consequently, constituents should keep in mind during any future elections, the officials who actually proposed legislation for the benefit of their communities and those who decided that their personal agenda should be their primary concern.
