“And this we will do if God permits.” –Hebrews 6:3
As a child of the Most High King, I don’t want to do anything, or want anything, that is outside of the Will of my Heavenly Father. As His son, his ambassador, and one who co-reigns with Christ, I want my life, my words and deeds, to be a living sacrifice pleasing unto the Father (Romans 12:1).
My prayers and declarations over the years have changed from “God, if you could…if you would…” to “God, thank you for directing my steps and making my crooked paths straight. I thank you that You have given me the desires of my heart, and that my desires are your desires because you have anointed my heart with your heart. I thank you that, like David, you have made me a man after your own heart. I thank you that I hear you clearly, accurately, and loudly and the voice of a stranger I will not follow. Father, anoint my ears with greater hearing ability toward You that I hear what you allow me to hear in the spirit realm and in the natural realm with Your Holy Spirit as my guide and my protector. Anoint my eyes, Father, with greater vision capacity that I see what You allow me to see in the spirit realm and in the natural realm with Your Holy Spirit as my guide and my protector. And Father, shut every door that you do not want me to walk through, and seal them shut with the Blood of Jesus so that no enemy, no opposing person or spirit, and no demon can open those doors. And open every door that you want me to walk through and seal them open with the Blood of Jesus so that no enemy, no opposing person or spirit, and no demon can shut those doors. Father, what you have cursed, let no man and no demon be able to bless; and what you have blessed, let no person and no demon be able to curse. In Jesus Name, I call these things in and I call these things done according to Your Perfect Will. Amen and Amen.”
The word “do” as used here is from the Greek word poieo (pr. poy-eh-o) which means “to band together, to ordain” (Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance). God promises us through His Word that we “can do all things through Christ who strengthens us” (Philippians 4:13), that we are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37), and that His grace is sufficient for us, His strength is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). When we band together with God, when we carry out His Will, His plan and purpose, when we do that which God has ordained, then no one can stop us! Not even the gates of hell can prevail against us! (Matthew 16:18).
When people come against my son because he is doing what he believes God is calling him to do, or because of his anointing, I tell my boy that these individuals are coming against God, so let God deal with them. When you are doing what God has called you to do and people come against you, they are really coming against God; so let God handle them and the situation. Because if God is for you, then no person and no demon will to be able to stand against you (Joshua 1:5).
The Greek word for “permit” is epitrepo (pr. ep-ee-trep-o) which means “to allow, turn over.” I was drawn to the definition “turn over.” When we turn our lives over to God, when we turn our will over to the Will of God by submitting our will to His Will, by submitting our authority over to His authority, by submitting our entire selves over to Him; when we turn over our ways to His Ways, and our thinking to His thinking, then He will move for us, in us, though us, in our lives, and on our behalf in a mighty and powerful way that will blow our minds. It is in this “turning over” that God’s Will is done and He is glorified.
Are you willing to turn your life, your ways, and your very being over to Him today? If you do, watch Him start moving for you in ways that you never even dreamed possible!
Father, thank you that Your thoughts are higher than our thoughts and Your ways are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:9). Father, help us to put our trust in You, to trust You with all of our hearts and to not lean on our own understanding. Do this supernatural work in us from the inside out. Help us to walk in your ways and to keep all of your statutes (Psalm 119). Thank you Father that we are your children and that you keep us in all of our ways (Psalm 91:11). In Jesus Name, we thank you that Your Will be done in us and in our lives. Amen and Amen.
Take Action! Challenge your thinking! Choose to allow God to seal your instructions within you (Job 33:15). Choose to allow God to be your thoughts, your words, and your actions each and every day. Determine to give the battle over to the Lord. And continue to fight the good fight of submitting your will to the Will of the Father; for God, your Inheritance, has already given you the victory!
