As if a Kroger’s, Randall’s, Whole Foods, Rice Epicurean and HEB within a 2-mile radius were not enough, you can now add Trader Joe’s to your grocery shopping options.
This Friday, January 4, 2013, Trader Joe’s will be opening its second store within the city of Houston. It will be directly across Voss Road from the Randall’s which is located between Woodway Drive and San Felipe Drive. This location is easily reached from the Galleria, the West Loop or from the Katy Freeway.
Trader Joe’s is a great place to go if you don’t feel like cooking. They have a wide variety of ready-to-eat and minimal-preparation options for meals and snacks. It is great if you are looking for party snacks or muchies for watching television. They also have a small selection of fresh produce and shortcut veggies like bagged salad mixes or baby carrot bags.
You can find recipes that use some of Trader Joe’s products on their website if you feel at a loss for what to do with some of your purchases.
Let’s see how Trader Joe’s competes with other grocers in the area. Are you excited about a second Trader Joe’s in Houston? Will you shop there? Do you prefer it to other stores in the area?
