Well “General Hospital” fans, this has been quite a week in the fictional town of Port Charles and with Christmas just a couple of days away some of the town’s residents have definitely been naughty by covering it up with shades of niceness.
During the week we saw the historically naughty A.J Quartermaine (Sean Kanaan) extend his hand to his nemesis Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard) in a symbol of truce for Michael’s sake. A weary Sonny refused A.J.’s offer of peace and instead invited A.J. into the ring for a “friendly” boxing match. After A.J. accepted he conveniently spotted a text message from Michael on Sonny’s cell phone saying that he was on his way to the gym. The naughty side of A.J resurfaced and he used the boxing match as an opportunity to show Michael (Chad Duell) just what kind of monster Sonny is. The plan seemed to work as Michael showed up just in time to see Sonny pounding on A.J. and bruising him up enough to send him to the hospital where A.J. was patched up by Nurse Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) who at first gave A.J. the cold shoulder but realized her own naughty deeds didn’t grant her authority to judge A.J.
Thanks to Starr Manning (Kristen Alderson), Michael’s girlfriend, A.J.’s misdeed was uncovered very quickly as she found the text on Sonny’s phone after returning to the gym and figured out that A.J. must’ve read the text and sit up the whole situation. Miss Manning may have a future as a detective. As she put the pieces together, she told Michael, who, feeling betrayed and used, confronts A.J. who admitted he set the whole thing up but it still proved what kind of monster Sonny really was because even if he was goaded by A.J., he still committed his act. Friday’s episode saw Michael giving A.J. yet another chance and the father and son bond back on its course as the two then talked about plans on how to get Sam Morgan’s (Kelly Monaco) 18% percent of ELQ stock into the hands of A.J.
Speaking of the naughty nice, Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) surprised Sam on Friday as she showed up as Sam’s door with a smile and gifts for both Sam and baby Daniel. GH fans know when Tracy Quartermaine is nice, something is usually up. And what was up was the 18% of ELQ stock held by Sam who figured out right away what Tracy was up to. Tracy tries to convince Sam of how bad A.J. would be for ELQ by mentioning the fact that it will affect Daniel’s future. In perfect soap opera timing, A.J. and Michael show up at Sam’s door and both A.J. and Tracy battle it out over the stock that would put either of them in control of ELQ but Sam shocks them both by spitting the 18% and giving each 9% putting them both back on equal ground. Now who holds the deciding stock? A.J. just may have to play nice with Michael’s mother Carly Jacks (Laura Wright) who controls Michael’s ELQ stock.
How nice was it to see the queen of naughty, Miss Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) back in Port Charles this week? After Sabrina (Teresa Castillo) and Felix (Marc Anthony Samuel) travel to New York City to persuade Lucy to fund the Nurses Ball, they find out that the founder of Coe Coe Cosmetics is actually broke and the two return to Port Charles with disheartening news. But Lucy shows up in Port Charles on Friday and visits the Quartermaine mansion where she is greeted by big Alice who wouldn’t let her in. Lucy, who was briefly married to Alan Quartermaine (Stuart Damon), finds the hidden key and lets herself in. What is Lucy up to? It will be fun finding out and it was fun to see her spar with Monica (Leslie Charleston) and kicked out the mansion. It was classic Lucy as she indirectly or directly insulted Monica by telling her that she could use a makeover. Lucy then made her way over to General Hospital where she announced in front of a surprised Sabrina that the Nurses Ball will happen, but how? Viewers know when Lucy has a plan it usually ends up disastrous.
Who else was naughty or nice this week?
Johnny Zacchara (Brandon Barash) decides it is finally time to unveil the truth to Starr about his involvement in the death of Cole and “her little girl” which worries his wife Connie (Kelly Sullivan) who blackmailed Johnny into marriage after finding out that Johnny was really responsible for an accident she took blame for. Connie ran over to her boss Todd Manning (Roger Howarth) who also knows about Johnny’s involvement in the accident that killed his granddaughter and the two plot to get rid of Johnny because Starr finds out the truth. Of course, Todd calls Star with an “emergency” right before Johnny gets the chance to confess and Starr runs to save her dad while Johnny returns home to his wife Connie who knocks him out with a vase and decides she needs to “kill” him. Of course she is interrupted with a knock at the door and there stands Carly who is there for Johnny’s confession on the real reason he married Connie. How will Connie weasel her way out of this one with a passed out Johnny just feet away on the floor? Furthermore how will Todd weasel his way out of faking a heart attack? Will the “detective” in Starr figure this all out or will this storyline drag on for another few months.
Once again Jerry (Sebastian Roche) is alive and now holding Robin Scorpio-Drake (Kimberly McCullough). What is Jerry’s role in Faison’s (Anders Hove) plan and a better question is who else is involved? With Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) seeing and knowing his daughter is alive, despite him being stuck in the chest with a paralyzing needle, the search for a very alive Robin will soon be underway. At lease we think. The contents of the needle may have an effect on Robert that causes him to lose memory of ever seeing Robin.
The drama continues. GH fans what are your naughty or nice moments from the week of Dec. 17-21?
