It’s a new take on that timeless tradition of kids writing letters to Santa. How else is Santa going to know what to leave under the tree or in your stocking if your don’t get him the necessary information?
I’m talking about using any number of new apps to get that all important wish list letter to the North Pole and Santa.
Here are some of the best iOS and Android apps I’ve come across that both parents and kids can make use of this holiday season.
Letters to Santa! By Peep Software (iPhone)
Need to get a letter to the North Pole? With the Letters to Santa app you can write Santa a letter, and he will write you back with a letter personalized just to you. Visit the inbox to read letters you have received from Santa, or look in the outbox to see the letters you sent. The outbox is great for parents to see what their kids have asked Santa to put under the tree. Write as many letters to Santa as you want all with this free app. Some letters are answered in as little as 30 minutes. Bonus access to a free Christmas coloring book is included from the main menu.
Letters for Santa By Drawinginc Limited (iPhone)
This app is an interactive storybook based around the run-up to Christmas and the preparation at Santa’s workshop. Ruben the reindeer – Rudolph’s nephew – has come up with an invention that helps the elves work more efficiently by letting children send their letters directly to Santa. There is a lot going on in this app and the graphics are great. Cost is $1.99.
Letters to Santa Gold By Xmas Christmas Fun Games (iPhone)
This app is currently free, but I’m told that could change. Now every member of the family can send a letter to Santa and get a reply. Keep you letters all through the holidays and see if you get everything you asked for.

Santa’s Fun is a holiday app for everyone in the family. Powered by the magic of the holidays, Santa’s Fun helps you find Santa’s helpers at a mall near you, keep important holiday shopping lists and e-mail Santa at the North Pole. Although Santa is very busy, Mrs. Claus will make sure that he answers your e-mail with a personalized letter. You can even track Santa’s journey on Christmas Eve. If you are going to your local mall to see Santa, this is the app for you and it’s free.

So, go ahead and send him yours. Tell him what you wish for this Christmas…and whether you’ve been naughty or nice. Use the letter builder to craft your letter to Santa. Choose a template and type your wishes using the keyboard. Then, send it to Santa (with your parents’ permission) or send it by email to family and friends.
