As the fan casting for Christian Grey in the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie continues hotly this week, Wet Paint reveals this Wednesday, Nov. 28, some of the most recent stars that have been favored by fans for Christian’s between-the-pages and sheets lover, Anastasia Steele. Although the search for the perfect Ana often falls underneath the shadow of the dominant Christian Grey, it is no less a pivotal part to be played on the silver screen.
Wet Paint reports this week that many young and beautiful actresses have been considered fan favorites for the role of Anastasia Steele in the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie, but (if possible) even less confirmed news has been detailed to the blue-eyed beauty’s role than Christian.
Some of the perennial top contenders for the role include such stars as Nina Dobrev (often paired with Ian Somerhalder of “The Vampire Diaries”), Amanda Seyfried, Ashley Greene of “Twilight,” and Alexandra Daddario.
Lucy Hale is one of the stars that has outwardly voiced an interest in the casting role of Ana, and wants to take her career from “Pretty Little Liars” to the big screen through the “Fifty Shades of Grey” film. Emma Watson has also been one who may transition from the world of “Harry Potter” to a darker, more sensual series by saying that she would be open to nude scenes in the future for the film.
The latest top fan favorites for Anastasia Steele, however, seem to be the always-popular Alexis Bledel (often paired with Christian Grey contender Matt Bomer). Emilia Clarke of “Game of Thrones” is similarly mentioned by Wet Paint this week, as well as Felicity Jones and particularly “Twilight’s” Ashley Greene, who scored a top spot in the latest casting poll.
Rumors flew that Mila Kunis was also a frontrunner for the role in early October, and while she remains a potential contender among some fans (who feel she may not have the particular look of Ana despite being the “Sexiest Woman Alive” by Esquire magazine), these rumors were later disproved by EL James.
Would you like to see any of the aforementioned actresses as your Ana Steele? No doubt that Ana’s character is a complex one, too, as that sense of wide-eyed innocence must be mingled with the coming potential for a deep lust and love for Christian as the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie progresses. Or should Ana be some dark-horse actress? EL James will likely have her great “50 Shades” fans’ votes help her decide.
