The Vaile Mansion in Independence, Mo. will be hosting, “Fashionable Victorian Christmas”, from Nov. 23 through Dec. 30. Visitors can enjoy the mansion decorated in ribbons, fabric, lace, seashells and greenery for the holiday season. Cost for adults is $6 each and children $3. The mansion is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.
The Engelwood Station Arts District will be holding the Englewood Wine Festival Winter Edition on Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. Visitors can enjoy a wine tasting and the “Arts holiday style. Participating galleries include Appleton Ave. Arts, Changing Seasons Florist and Gardens, Cork and Barrel, Green Dog Art Gallery and the Winner Road Gallery among others.
The featured artist at the Green Dog Art Gallery for November is Mike Hinojosa. Hinojosa specializes in pen and ink, pencil and scratch board. The gallery along with other businesses in the Englewood Station Arts District will be participating in the Holiday Art Walks beginning Friday Nov. 23 and running through the holiday season.
The Fairy Princess visits Zona Rosa daily beginning at 10 a.m. Sponsored by the Kansas City Museum the Fairy Princess is a tradition that began in 1935 at the Kline’s Department Store in downtown Kansas City.
“Painter of the Prairie” will be the featured exhibit at the American Legacy Gallery at 5911 Main. The exhibit features paintings of Robert Sudlow (1920 to 2010). The exhibit runs through the end of November.
Bill Brady of KC will feature “Secret Life” by Tomoo Gokita and “Comb Your Skin” by Julia Chang at the gallery located at 1505 Genessee in the West Bottoms Art District. The exhibit will run through December 22.
“Visions of the Flint Hills” will be on exhibit at Buttonwood Art Space at 3013 Main. The exhibit closes on Nov. 30.
Corridor Art Space at 4041 Mill in the Westport Entertainment district will be featuring, “Art, Architecture and Aperiodicity” through Jan. 13.
“The Sky is Not Falling, it is Upside Down” will be the featured exhibit at the Dolphin Gallery at 1600 Liberty in the West Bottoms. The exhibit is by Brion Nuda Rosch and will be included in a group show titled, “Repeat.” Both exhibits run through Jan. 5.
The oil and ink paintings of Ron and Anna Wallace will be featured at the First Art Gallery of Olathe through Nov. 30. The gallery is located at 11951 Strang Line in Olathe.
“Art in November, Lest Cold to Remember” will be featured at the Jones Gallery, 1717 Walnut, through Nov. 30.
The Main Street Gallery will exhibit “The Journey” by Linda Stilley and Ron Fleming through Nov. 25. The gallery is located on the upper level of Anton’s Tap room, 1610 Main.
The Red Star Studios will feature “Porcelain Society” by Ilona Romule through December 29 and Kate Parker and Guy Michael Davis through Jan. 26. The gallery is located at 2100 Walnut.
Through December 22 Sherry Leedy Contemporary Art will exhibit “Taking Aim” by Linda Lighton, Charles Krafft and Jane Rainwater. Alson on exhibit will be “Abject Reverie” by Misty Gamble. The gallery is located at 2004 Baltimore.
