As we travel into 2013 and all the fashions that a new year has to offer, we must first discuss what clothes we should leave behind. Since fashion styles has changed dramatically, we interviewed a few entrepreneurs in order to get their take on what fashions is in and what they hated in the 2012 fashion year.
First we interviewed Keith Grant, who a fashion stylist and consultant for Image is Everything. Keith stated that the worst fashion trend was seeing women wear leggings with boots. Grant stated, “it all looked the same and was so predictable.” Keith states he prefers vintage knit looks to show curves in a classy and stylish way with a few pops of color. The president of Tour and Travel Planners, who stated her biggest pet peeve with this year’s fashion was seeing women or just people in general wearing pajamas in public. We must admit wearing pajamas is very comfortable especially when you wear them in front of a warm and cozy fireplace. Wearing pajamas out in public is a big NO-NO and should really be banned for public indecency.
Chaunci Carr is a make-up artist of C. Lee Artistry. Chaunci stated that she hates the super big designer glasses that almost covers a person’s face. She also added that in the military big glasses were joked about as being “birth control glasses”. As a artist,Carr wants to see a great change with plus-size clothing. Chaunci feels that plus-size clothing are under styled and she would like to see more plus-sized clothing with more curved seams to show off plus-size curves. In the plus-size fashion industry, Carr wants this year to reveal more stylish plus-size items such as fitted blazers, vests and cardigans with jewel tones. Personally, I wouldn’t give up on this fashion trend so fast because big glasses has mad a great come back from the 80’s.
Rosalind Bryant, the CEO & Founder of Open Hearts, Helping Hands stated the fashions she hated the most were wild printed leggings.Bryant states if she had the option to change or implement the fashions for 2013, the fashion would be more sassy, yet classy. Rosalind described her hope for fashion in 2013 as the 1950’s meets Tom Ford. Being a shoe fanatic Rosalind states, ” it’s always best to spray satin shoes with weather protector before wear and also find a great shoe repairman-it’s worth the investment.”
