“Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars” semi-finals aired November 19, 2012 and the remaining five semi-finalists were faced with two grueling challenges. The first round was another fusion dance combining a “wacky” theme with a particular dance style that left “DWTS” pros and “All-Stars” alike shaking their heads in confusion. The second round was a traditional ball room dance performed to hits from Michael Jackson’s “Bad” album. How did your favorites fare? Did they do enough to make it to the finals?
With the competition so closely matched it is utterly impossible to predict who will make it through tomorrow nights “DWTS” semi-finals double elimination round. There are only four judges points separating the five remaining “All-Stars”, four of which have won the coveted mirror-ball trophy in seasons past. Melissa Rycroft is the only celebrity not to have won her “Dancing with the Stars” season.
The fate of these five “DWTS: All-Stars” semi-finalists lies squarely in the hands of voters.
Now, having said that I can only give an “opinion” as to who I feel should be voted through to the “DWTS: All-Stars” finals. Please feel free to leave your choices in the comment box located at the bottom of this article.
Based on tonight’s “Dancing with the Stars” semi-finals performance I feel that Shawn Johnson should take her place in the “All-Stars” finals. Johnson came into the competition a fantastic dancer but her talent and confidence has grown with each dance. She and “DWTS” pro partner Derek Hough’s “Knight Rider” Bhangra was simply amazing and their Argentine Tango was flawless despite Carrie Ann Inaba’s critique that Johnson lacked “passion”.
I also believe that Melissa Rycroft deserves to be in the “Dancing with the Stars” finals. Tonight Carrie Ann Inaba called Melissa Rycroft an underdog. I found that odd because I have never thought of Rycroft in that way. When Melissa falters she overcomes, just like she did during tonight’s “All-Stars” semi-finals. The judges criticized Rycroft’s foot work during her “Cave Man” Hustle giving Melissa a less than perfect score but did that bring her down? No. Melissa Rycroft came back during “DWTS” second round earning a perfect score for her Argentine Tango.
While I am certain that the two aforementioned “All-Stars” should go through to the “Dancing with the Stars” finals, I am unsure of the remaining three.
If I absolutely had to choose one I suppose I would pick Apolo Anton Ohno simply because he and Karina Smirnoff delivered a “smoking hot” Rumba which earned the two a perfect score from the “DWTS” judges. The judges collectively summed up my feelings about the dance, “The two reached into my heart and melted it with a perfect pitch between emotion and sensuality that flowed like the sea with wave after wave of effortless motion.”
