“Dancing with the Stars” November 5, 2012 challenge for the celebrity “All-Stars” was to perform an all new dance routine which required the contestants to combine two different dance styles with one piece of music. Under the circumstances most of the “All-Stars” did an excellent job but Shawn Johnson and temporary dance partner Mark Ballas blew the judges away with their Tango/Paso Doble fusion.
An Injury to the vertebrae of his neck sidelined Derek Hough for this evenings “DWTS” performances otherwise Hough would have danced the Tango/Paso fusion with “All-Stars” partner Shawn Johnson. Lucky for Shawn former season 8 “Dancing with the Stars” partner Mark Ballas stepped up to the plate, kept the former Olympic gold medal gymnast in the competition and helped Johnson earn her first perfect score for this “All-Stars” season.
During tonight’s “Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars” performance show Derek Hough assured Shawn Johnson as well as his adoring fans that he will definitely be fit to dance alongside his partner next week. Can Hough and Johnson earn a perfect score next week? Mark Ballas gave Shawn Johnson her first 10’s this “All-Stars” season as well as the win in season 8. The pressure is on for Derek Hough.
As well as the new fusion dance challenge the “DWTS: All-Stars” celebrities participated in a swing dance-a-thon which added as much as 10 points to their individual scores depending on the sequence of elimination by the judges. The first pair eliminated received 4 points, the second 5 and so forth with the final couple dancing receiving a 10. There were no rules to the dance-a-thon just four minutes of continuous dancing. The “All-Star” couple with the best performance and highest level of energy would win.
Shawn Johnson and partner Mark Ballas didn’t win the “DWTS” swing marathon although they came in third place.
Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani were the last couple dancing earning the couple an extra 10 points which escalated the two “All-Stars” to the top of tonight’s “Dancing with the Stars” leaderboard.

Due to Tuesday night’s election coverage there will not be a “Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars” results show this week. Tonight’s scores will be carried over to next week and added to Nov 12 performance scores. The next “DWTS” elimination will take place on Tuesday Nov 13 at 8/7c on ABC with two “All-Stars” going home.
