Monday night saw seven couples hit the floor in an effort to bring their very best to the ballroom as week of “Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars” unfolded. Melissa Rycroft stole the show with two perfect scores for her Quickstep and Paso Doble Trio dance. The show aired Nov. 12 at 7 p.m.
The show was divided into two halves with each contestant performing a classic ballroom routine with their partner and then a Latin number with two partners. The trio dances brought in a second professional to dance with the couple and required more intense choreography and coordination. Melissa shined in both routines.
For her Quickstep done to “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” by The Andrews Sisters, Len called the routing the “bees knees.” Carrie Ann Inaba said Melissa was on fire two weeks in a row. The praise didn’t stop there.
Melissa and her partner Tony Dovolani chose Henry, a member of the SWTS troupe to be their third for a Paso Doble set to the Adele song “Rumor Has It.” Lean again lavished praise when h told Melissa “you impress me the most.”
The pair earned to scores of 30, giving them a 60 out of 60 for the night. This score is added to the scores from last week which also included two dances for which she earned a 39. Melissa is at the top of the leader board for the past two weeks with a total score of 99.
Here is where the other six competitors rank:
Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough: 93.5
Kelly Monaco and Val Chmerkovskiy: 92.5
Emmitt Smith and Cheryl Burke: 92.5
Gilles Marini and Pet Murgatroyd: 92
Apolo Ohno and Karina Smirnov: 91.5
Kirstie Alley and Maks Chmerkovskiy: 79
The couples face a double elimination on Tuesday as the season moves toward its end. While Kirstie Alley has repeatedly wound up at the bottom of the leader board, her fans have pulled her out every time. The race is too close to call. Who do you think will be sent home?
Southern Illinois fans can tune in on ABC’s channel 3 WSIL at 7 p.m. on Monday nights each week for the competition and on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. for the results show.
