The Gingerbread Competition has been a favorite tradition since 2006. This year there are nine entries designed by Bay Area celebrities in collaboration with the Palace culinary team, raising money for charity. This year’s entries include: The Nutcracker, ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, Chinatown, 2012 World Series Champions Mt. Rushmore, A Greenhouse Holiday, Sugarplum Bakery, The Cliff House and a Holiday Ski Lodge. The designs are displayed in the lobby through December 31, 2012; guests are invited to vote for their favorite design and are entered to win one of three weekend stays for two at the Palace, including Sunday brunch in The Garden Court.
Inspired by the elaborate confectionery creations, learn how to make your own at the Gingerbread Decorating Class held at the Pied Piper Bar & Grill on Saturday December 1, 8 & 15, 2012. Details: Registration and Breakfast Buffet at 9:30 a.m., Class Instruction & Decorating at 10:00 a.m., followed by lunch at 12 p.m., Adults $75, Children (age 5-12) $55.
Bring friends and family to the Holiday Grand Buffet Brunch in the Garden Court: This is one of San Francisco’s most elegant brunch offering, offering a sumptuous selection in a stunning setting. Details: held Sunday December 2, 9, 16, & 23, 2012. Make advance reservations to ensure a great table from 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Adults $89, Children $59 (Age 5-12).
Holiday Afternoon Tea at the Garden Court: Unwind after shopping by sipping tea, noshing on tea snacks and listening to soothing music, all in the historic Garden Court. Select your favorite tea including traditional favorites and special Palace Hotel blends, served along with homemade scones, tea sandwiches and assorted pastries. Upgrade to champagne for added sparkle. Details: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday December 3 – 24, 2012 and on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Monday December 26 – 31, 2012, reservations from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m., Adults and Children $45.
Kids won’t feel left out with their very own Santa Claus Tea at the Garden Court. Get your picture taken with Santa and enjoy a tea party, Palace style. Details: held Tuesdays (December 4, 11 & 18, 2012) and Saturdays (December 8, 15, & 22, 2012); reservations from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. Adults and Children $55.
Enjoy Christmas Day Brunch at the Garden Court. The selection of appetizers, entrees, and desserts will leave you speechless. Details: December 25, 2012 in the Garden Court from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. or 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. Seating in the Grand Ballroom is from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Adults $105, Children $75 (Age 5-12). Celebrate New Years Eve with a Dinner Dance at the Pied Piper Bar & Grill from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. on December 31, 2012 with their special Prix Fixe Menu ($95 Adults) and live music. Stay at the Palace Hotel for added romance.
Enjoy an elegant New Years Day Champagne Brunch in the Garden Court on Sunday January 1, 2013 reservations from 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Choose from a wide assortment of delicious savory and sweet items, sure to please everyone’s palate. Adults $89, Children (5-12) $59.
