Are you craving a beach trip but need to stay close to home? If you live in Cobb County Georgia you are in luck. Nestled on the shores of Lake Acworth and Lake Altoona Cobb County is considered a suburb of metro Atlanta. The state of Georgia has invested in many state parks for your summer time enjoyment. One favorite beach in downtown historic Acworth, Georgia is Cauble Park. This beach and the park are located along the northern shore of Lake Acworth. The 90 acre lake is just south of, and empties into, Lake Allatoona. Home to the Pro Wake Board Championship, Cauble has a nice beach for tanning in the summertime. Amenities include a public restroom, walking paths, a playgrounds for little kids, water fountains, covered picnic areas, several boat launches and a great view of Cobblestone Golf Course across the lake. The beach is open for swimming from June to Labor Day. There is a $10.00 parking fee for the beach in summer, unless you are an Acworth resident then you get a season sticker for your car. Cobblestone Golf Course also winds along the shore of Lake Acworth and offers stunning views, especially in fall with the changing leaves.
