Charlie Sheen weighed in, as we all knew he would, saying simply that in light of “Two and a Half Men” co-star Angus T. Jones’ recent video tirade against the sitcom, it proves the show is cursed. Charlie Sheen’s comments to People yesterday were reflective of his own infamous meltdown as well. So now there we have it, Sheen’s decent back into drug and alcohol abuse and physical abuse of his wife and a hooker were simply a result his hit TV show being cursed. Meanwhile Angus T. Jones issued a public apology for his own rant, in which he posted a rambling 15 minute video online calling “Two and a Half Men” filth and begging viewers to stop watching. The 19 year-old even equated the show with Satan as he sat in his L.A. studio trailer next to Christopher Hudson, a controversial Seventh-Day Adventist who runs an online ministry called the “Forerunner Chronicles” and posts his proselytizations via Youtube. Jones’ new religious affiliation is a Los Angeles based congregation of that Adventist world church. Jones’ mother and other family members are concerned with his sudden deep immersion into the church, describing his behavior as cult-like.
By Tuesday night, Angus T. Jones issued a partial apology and retraction of his controversial statements posted online Monday, according to The L.A. Times. Angus said, “…I am grateful to and have the highest regard and respect for all of the wonderful people on ‘Two and Half Men’ with whom I have worked and over the past ten years who have become an extension of my family”.
Jones, who earns about $8 million annually on the show, reached out to the cast and crew saying how much he cares for them. He finished his statement saying, “I apologize if my remarks reflect me showing indifference to and disrespect of my colleagues and a lack of appreciation of the extraordinary opportunity of which I have been blessed. I never intended that”.
Of course, Angus T. Jones’ video rant was quickly met by many whose initial reactions were that it’s odd for the young actor to take such a negative stand against the very show he doesn’t have a problem collecting his $350,000 per episode salary from. Perhaps that paradox is what prompted him to issue a fast apology.
Christopher Hudson is known for his “fiery” Youtube sermons in which he equates President Obama to Adolph Hitler, and suggests singers Jay-Z, Kanye West and Rihanna are “in league with Lucifer”.
The N.Y. Daily News reports that Hudson told them he’s not an extremist, but rather uses colorful language to communicate his ideas. “I don’t think Obama is the new Hitler. I like Obama. I was talking about some of his policies and comparing them to the policies (of Hitler)”, he said.
Meanwhile, “His mom is really worried and in contact with the producers of the show. The main concern is that he is going to give away all his money to the church”, a source told E! News. “It’s like he’s been brainwashed. Everyone is shocked and very concerned”, the insider continued.
Charlie Sheen told People, “With Angus’ Hale-Bopp-like meltdown, it is radically clear to me that the show is cursed”. Sheen, 47, was infamously fired from the series in March 2011 following a Christmas assault on his wife Brook Mueller.
Charlie followed that up with another NYC incident in which he had a meltdown with a prostitute in his hotel suite. He also took to the internet bragging about his ability to consume large amounts of crack cocaine as he issued forth multiple venomous verbal attacks on “Men” creator Chuck Lorre.
Charlie’s Hale-Bopp reference is to the Heaven’s Gate religious cult, which committed mass suicide in 1997 because they believed death was the only way to gain access to an alien spaceship that was following the Hale-Bopp comet as it passed by Earth.
Sheen took the opportunity to take another swipe at his former bosses though, saying “I dare anyone to spend ten years in the laugh-track that is Chuck Lorre’s hive of oppression and not suffer some form of an emotional tsunami”, according to Digital Spy. So apparently Chuck Lorre is now to blame for Charlie’s hooker and crack addiction? Perhaps he learned that in his home-grown rehabilitation clinic.
Jones, whose character has had a “diminished presence” on “Two and a Half Men” this season as his character joined the military, is not due back on the set until after the holiday break. His current contract expires in May, at the end of the this season.
Charlie Sheen survived his own cultish experience as a self-proclaimed warlock of the universe with tiger blood in his veins and Adonis DNA and now stars in “Anger Management”. Ironic, yes?
