The Borscht film festival has one singular goal: to “celebrating stories only a city as strange and beautiful as Miami could inspire. The “festival” lasts almost a week, with films by several of Miami’s key emerging creators showing at several venues throughout the city, culminating with Borscht 8, the festivals’ flagship event taking place at the Adrienne Arscht Center for the performing arts. Ticket prices vary per event but enjoying the festival doesn’t have to break the bank. Many of the screenings are free, including the “Bosh Film Festival” during which attendees will have a chance to see the controversial short by Bleeding Palm “Adventures of Christopher Bosh in the Multiverse” and even more events are half off with the $25 for entrance to Borscht 8, which also grants you complimentary admission to the afterparty at Grand Central.
Even the main event itself, Borscht 8, could be free. The collective plans to give away any unsold tickets to spectators who chance the standby line.
Here however, is a collection of films and events that any visitor can pop into for the cost of nothing, and events that are free for those that pay the $25 for a guaranteed spot at Borscht 8.
