Stephan Manuel Pool, born and raised in the tough streets of The Bronx, sadly lost his life by crazed, jealous man in D.C. area.
Pool, originally from The Bronx, NY lived in the Upper Marlboro area of D.C., where just a little after midnight on September 2nd, came forward with an untimely attack.
Pool was found innocently talking to and hugging the girlfriend of 27-year-old Leon Allen Smith. According to witnesses and court documents, Pool and two others drove to meet up with Smith. From there, Smith angrily yells at Pool, “Oh, you trying to talk to my girlfriend, huh?”
A witness identified as Smith’s girlfriend told police she saw the defendant, Leon Allen Smith first punch Pool with a closed fist then walked away. After that, the witness told police she saw Smith holding a silver knife with a blue handle and heard Pool surprisingly scream, “Oh my God. He stabbed me.”
Unfortunately, the female witness was still no help in explaining to Pool’s family, how and why exactly this situation occurred. “We are in the dark as far as any real details are involved with the case,” stated Wanda Pool, Stephan’s sister.
Pool was found with an obvious stab wound to his chest where he eventually succumbed to his injuries. Doctors at a nearby hospital pronounced the victim dead.
Leon Allen Smith, 27 was quickly arrested at the scene, where a witness held him till police arrived and was later charged with second-degree murder, while armed.
Stephan Manuel Pool, 45 had once worked in the Department of Justice in Maryland, and was a well-regarded, decorated war veteran, who traveled abroad.
Pool was a large guy with an intimidating look, but was a well-liked man, with great kindness and determination, plus shared the warmest charm, explained his middle sister, Wanda Pool, who sadly learned of the unfortunate incident the day of her birthday.
Stephan was American of Dominican descent, and many times surprised people when he spoke clear Spanish, leading many to think he was African-American at first.
Pool leaves behind a mother he had great love for and three sisters. Pool’s heartbroken mother and sisters will return to the D.C. area where a military service will be held in Arlington to also commemorate what could have been Stephan’s birthday on November 28th.
