“Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Brandi Glanville says country singer LeAnn Rimes has a serious eating disorder and laxative addiction, contradicting vehement denials by Rimes that her recent dramatic weight loss “happened naturally.”
What’s more, Brandi claims that her nine-year-old son Mason got sick after accidentally ingesting one of LeAnn’s laxatives, which he mistook for candy.
“LeAnn has a severe eating disorder,” Glanville told Us. “She has [a laxative] in every purse. Mason found one on the floor and thought it was a Skittle! They don’t keep sugar in the house. He thought he finally found candy! He gets extremely sick, and that freaks me the f–k out.”
Glanville, 40, is the ex-wife of LeAnn’s husband, actor Eddie Cibrian. In 2009, Cibrian, 39, cheated on Brandi with LeAnn, 30, and the two married in 2011. At the time, Rimes was also married, to chef Dean Sheremet, 31. Brandi and Eddie were married for eight years and share custody of their two sons.
Brandi and LeAnn had maintained a rocky but cordial relationship until Nov. 30, when Rimes referred to Glanville’s sons as “my boys” on a Twitter message. An enraged Glanville then tweeted back, “They are my boys, Eddie’s boys and your stepsons…for now.”
Brandi was also furious after LeAnn posted a photo of one of her sons riding a bike without a helmet. Glanville now says she doesn’t want her sons around Rimes because LeAnn’s careless behavior endangers them. While Brandi acknowledges that LeAnn might have genuine affection for her stepsons, her actions could cause one of the kids to get hurt.
“She loves them, but she’s endangering them,” says Glanville. “They may love her, but they don’t realize that, you know what, if he ate more than two laxatives — what if he ate the whole box — it’s just not OK.
“She’s not healthy. And until she’s healthy, I don’t want her around my children by herself. Eddie is a proper human being. He’s a good dad, he’s smart, he doesn’t have an eating disorder, he doesn’t have mental issues, he’s a normal person, and I want him to man up.”
Brandi went public with the revelations because she says her ex-husband won’t respond to her repeated calls and emails about her concerns.
“Mason, my eldest, ate some of Le’s candies and got extremely ill,” Glanville recounts. “And Le’s candies are laxatives. It was a big f-cking deal for me, and I lost my mind. Mason told me about it, and then Eddie’s assistant, who was working for me at the time, also told me about it out of concern for my children.
“I emailed, emailed, called, called — no answers. Couldn’t even discuss it. He refuses to even be in the same room as me. He can’t have a parent-teacher conference if I’m there. I don’t know how to do this when I can’t talk to the father of my children and his new wife. I don’t know what to do.”
Meanwhile, Rimes has slammed Brandi’s allegations as malicious lies. “It’s a shame to have one party constantly spreading lies,” said LeAnn. “I know this drama is exactly what she wants to create. But Eddie and I hope that for everyone’s sake this changes.”
